Gorch Fock (flask)

The three-master Gorch Fock was built at the ship-yard ‚Blohm & Voss’ in Hamburg and was put into service by the German Federal Navy as a training ship in 1958. It was named after the author Johann Kienau, who wrote mainly about seafaring and whose pen-name was Gorch Fock. The Gorch Fock – which is 93.32 meters long – has a general crew of 70 men and takes on board 200 naval cadets for training.
